Ever wanted to make your own punch? We’ve got the perfect recipe for a delicious lightly spiced drink.
Full preparation
-
Preheat the oven to 120°C/fan 110°C/gas mark ½.
-
Peel, core and half the apples, and use a melon baller and a sharp knife to create faces. Make them as scary, ghoulish, silly, friendly or emoji-like, as you like. They don’t have to be really scary, but we kind of liked them creepy.
-
Pop the apples on a tray and bake in the oven for 1hr 30 mins, or until they are beginning to dry around the edges.
-
Measure 1200ml water and the sugar free squash juice into a large saucepan. Add the allspice, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange and lemon slices, and lemon juice.
-
Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
-
Remove the cloves and cinnamon with a slotted spoon.
-
Put the shrunken apple heads in a large bowl and pour in the punch. Allow to cool to a safe temperature to drink and have a ladle and some mugs, glasses or goblets handy to serve!
