Team GB Athlete Jazmin Sawyers to put our Apples Through Their Paces
Pink Lady® is excited to be teaming up with Team GB athlete and Pink Lady® fan Jazmin Sawyers to offer our six, hand-picked Beginners2Runners members a very special marathon training session.
Everyone's favourite apple brand has teamed up with Kent-based running group Beginners2Runners for the second year, offering six of their specially selected members a place in the prestigious Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 28th April.
Running the famous 26.2-mile course will be an exciting, but difficult challenge for all of the runners, who will all be wearing the famous Pink Lady® apple costumes to run the race in. Jazmin will be offering hints and tips, not only on preparing for the marathon, but also controlling nerves and excitement on race day.
More than 41,000 finishers are expected to cross the famous finishing line this year and each person who crosses the line will be given a Pink Lady® apple; a much needed, natural sugar, energy boost for both the grown-ups in the mass race and the 2,500 11-17-year-olds running the Virgin Money Giving London Mini Marathon, who will also receive a tasty apple within their goody bag.
Beginners2Runners will be running to raise money for the Padua Children’s Oncology Ward at William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, Kent. Money raised will support the refurbishment of the ward, contributing to creating a space for both the children and their family members, from all over the East Kent area, to relax, play and spend quality time together.
