Youngsters get snapping at the Pink Lady® Snap It! photography workshop
This month, we welcomed young winners of the Pink Lady® Snap It! competition, to Carousel in London for a bespoke photography workshop, hosted by award-winning photographer David Loftus and snap happy CBBC presenter Barney Harwood.

The aim of the competition, hosted in association with Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards, is to help grow and encourage the next crop of budding photographers. The competition received almost 500 entries, with 30 young people between the ages of 8-17 being offered the opportunity to attend the workshop.
Our winners were given the chance to show off and develop their photography skills, using a variety of interesting backgrounds, lighting techniques and, of course, our delicious Pink Lady® apples as the perfect props. David and Barney were on hand to offer their expert advice and answer any questions from our flourishing photographers.
The Carousel team also provided our lucky winners with an array of Pink Lady® themed snacks, including an apple compote filled Pink Lady®, chocolate-dipped Pink Lady® apple lollipops with popping candy and Pink Lady®apple doughnuts with raspberry and pistachio, which were good enough to snap as well as eat! Winners and their families also enjoyed a delicious lunch, while David and Barney offered more top tips and hints to help winners snap their way to success.
Liz Martinez, who attended the workshop with daughter Catherine, said:
“Catherine had a wonderful afternoon enjoying learning about food photography with David and Barney. She really enjoyed it and learned a lot, which she is intending to put to good use. Lunch was fabulous too!”
Lucia Hull, whose husband Conor attended with competition winner Ella-Rose, continued:
“Ella and her father came home raving about the workshop and Ella has been taking photos of every meal we've had since. They are both definitely going to enter the Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year Awards. They learnt so much and were really inspired by the whole afternoon.”
As part of the prize, the winners also got to take away an exclusive Pink Lady® goody bag which included a signed print from David and Barney. Along with this, the Pink Lady® team are also sending out boxes of apples to each of the winners’ schools!
